Alia Bhatt opens up about having ‘working child guilt’; says, “I have felt guilty about how maybe I wasn’t a good enough daughter”

Inspiring several women, Alia Bhatt, a successful actress, entrepreneur and now a mother, has often opened up about how she juggles between these multiple roles efficiently. While the actress has also confessed about undergoing working mom’s guilt where she is often stuck in situations between choosing career and her daughter, in a recent interaction, she confessed that she also underwent working daughter’s guilt wherein she felt she wasn’t a good enough daughter.

In an interesting mix of thoughts and ideas, Alia Bhatt and her mother Soni Razdan came together to discuss their journey of being a mother and daughter, wherein they also discussed about their camaraderie with each other. During the same, the actress was talking about working daughter’s guilt wherein she told The Nod magazine, “We have all heard of the working mom’s guilt, but have you ever considered a working child’s guilt? I remember when I was pregnant and shooting in London for Heart of Stone, I couldn’t sleep for three days because I felt so guilty about how maybe I wasn’t a good enough daughter”. She also added, “Even the most successful child is a child, after all.” The actress confessed that she has even felt anxious about not picking up calls or giving attention. “I don’t know if it was the hormones, but I remember this overwhelming feeling of love, care, responsibility, worry—all hitting me at once,” she shared.

Meanwhile, her mother Soni Razdan Bhatt was all praises for her daughter as she believes that the actress fulfils all her duties with aplomb. “When I see Alia, my sporty younger child who would come home from the park with muddy clothes, evolve into this darling of the entertainment world—her entry at the Met, her achievements in TIME Magazine, her roster of films—I’m amazed at how she does it. I’m aware that for every milestone and achievement, Alia has been the agent of her own trajectory—but it’s funny how this pride validates a parent, making them almost feel like they have achieved all this, which is not true,” stated the proud mother.

On the work front, Alia Bhatt is currently gearing up for Jigra which also features Vedang Raina as her brother. Besides that, the actress is also expected to play an agent alongside Sharvari Wagh in the untitled sleek action entertainer which will be a part of the YRF’s ambitious spyverse.
