Sunny Kaushal reveals Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif’s wedding secret; says, “we kept a no-phone policy on ground”

Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif got married in an intimate wedding in Rajasthan in December 2021. Vicky's brother, Sunny Kaushal, spoke with Zoom and discussed why they opted to go with a no-phones policy throughout the festivities.

Contrary to common assumption, Sunny informed the outlet that phones were not permitted at the wedding for reasons other than privacy. “What we did, it was very interesting, we kept a no-phone policy on ground, not because of privacy or anything but because we realised that people are enjoying so much in the moment that none of us needed phones,” he said.

He also stated that this allowed everyone at the wedding to bond with each other, “My friends, my relatives, and Katrina’s relatives, everybody bonded so well, we partied and enjoyed so much that we did not realise where those three days went. There was no pressure to hide or show anything. Pressure lekar nahi ho pati hain shaadi.”

Vicky mentioned viewing memes and humorous tweets about his and Katrina's wedding on an episode of Koffee with Karan in 2022. Some sources stated that drones were being employed for security at the wedding venue, while others suggested that the groom would arrive by helicopter.

He claimed that the unusual coverage of their wedding, including stories that 'drones were being shot down', prompted him to instruct their pandit that the ceremony should run no more than an hour. Vicky said, “While all these random news were making the rounds, I was just there with the pandit ji saying, jaldi nipta dena please. Ek ghante se jyada nahi.”

On the work front, Sunny will soon star alongside Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey in the film Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba. Vicky has Chhava lined up, and Katrina was last seen in Merry Christmas.
