Dalljiet Kaur files FIR against husband Nikhil Patel for cruelty and breach of trust

The controversy surrounding television actor Dalljiet Kaur's marriage to Nikhil Patel took a new turn. In the midst of speculation over their split, Times Now reports that Dalljiet filed a FIR against Nikhil on grounds of cruelty and criminal breach of trust. Nikhil was recently seen at the Mumbai airport with his girlfriend Safeena Nazar.

The report stated that Dalljiet has submitted a FIR against Nikhil under section 85 and 316 (2) of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita).

Section 85 of BNS stated, “Husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty. — Whoever, being the husband or the relative of the husband of a woman, subjects such woman to cruelty shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years and shall also be liable to fine.”

Section 312 (2) of BNS stated, “Whoever commits criminal breach of trust shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to five years, or with fine, or with both.”

Meanwhile, Dalljiet took to her X account to express gratitude to the police for their support. Her latest tweet read, “Thank you Jt Comm Of Police Anil Paraskar, DCP Krishnatkant Upadhyay, Senior Inspector Yogendra Pache & IO Sachin Shelke along with a lady constable for your efficiency. Thank you AGRIPADA PS for letting a woman know that she is safe in this country.”

Dalljiet recently shared images of a post featuring Nikhil and his new girlfriend Safeena Nazar, writing, "No words…Just tears that won't stop...”

On March 10, 2023, Dalljiet and Nikhil married in a ceremony attended by close friends and family. She relocated to Kenya, but returned to Mumbai in January 2024 with her son Jayden. The couple's divorce conjecture began in February 2024, when they both unfollowed one other and erased posts from their Instagram accounts.

Previously, Nikhil stated that he had sent Dalljiet a legal notice following her recent Instagram posts accusing him of having an extramarital affair. He further stated that if she does not retrieve her possessions from his Kenyan home, he will donate them all to charity.
