Pakistani actor Mahira Khan has opened up about one of the most emotional moments from her wedding to Salim Karim: her son Azlan walking her down the aisle. In an interview with BBC Asian Network, Mahira shared her thoughts on the significance of the moment, calling it a profound blessing.
Mahira Khan Shares Heartfelt Memories of Son Azlan at Her Wedding “It felt like every single thing that went wrong… Let me put it in a better way… for every time that I was good in some way, I was kind, or looked after people around me. It was as if God put it all together and blessed me and said, ‘Here this is for the good that you have done,’” Mahira said.
The Raees actor added, “I was constantly saying Alhamdulillah. It was a very big moment for me because I had always imagined my life to be me and Azlan.” A Dreamy Wedding and a Special Bond Mahira Khan tied the knot with businessman Salim Karim in an intimate ceremony in October last year. The wedding, held at the picturesque Pearl Continental Hotel in Bhurban, Pakistan, was attended by close friends and family.
Sharing glimpses of her big day on Instagram, Mahira posted a heartwarming video of her son Azlan walking her to the altar. Dressed in coordinating outfits, the mother-son duo captured hearts online. Mahira affectionately referred to her husband as “My Shehzada, Salim (my prince)” in the caption.

Reflecting further on Azlan’s role in the ceremony, Mahira said, “This was a very big moment. I was very proud of my child… I wanted him to walk me down the aisle, so he did!”
For the unversed, Mahira shares Azlan with her former husband, Ali Askari. The couple, who were married in 2007, parted ways in 2015. Azlan, born in 2009, remains a central part of Mahira’s life.
