Ram Gopal Varma has no intention of making film with Janhvi Kapoor; calls her comparison with late mother “Sridevi hangover”

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has clarified his stance on working with Janhvi Kapoor, daughter of legendary actress Sridevi. In a recent interview on his channel, he candidly stated, “I liked the mother, not the daughter,” while speaking about Sridevi’s unparalleled legacy and his personal connection to her performances.

RGV’s Admiration for Sridevi Ram Gopal Varma has never hidden his deep admiration for Sridevi, often citing her as one of the greatest performers in Indian cinema. Highlighting her range, he remarked, “Be it Padaharella Vayasu or Vasanta Kokila, she delivered a range of performances. Seeing her perform, I forgot I was a filmmaker and started seeing her as an audience.” Why RGV Won’t Collaborate with Janhvi Kapoor When asked about the possibility of working with Sridevi’s daughter, RGV left no ambiguity. “Honestly, throughout my career, there have been a lot of actors and big stars with whom I haven’t developed a connection. So yeah, I have no intention of doing a film with Janhvi,” he stated. RGV dismissed comparisons between the two, referring to such notions as a “Sridevi hangover.”

Interestingly, Janhvi Kapoor’s Devara co-star Jr NTR had a different take. Earlier, he mentioned that during a photoshoot, Janhvi resembled her mother, a moment that caught him off guard. However, RGV’s perspective diverged, as he explained his focus on a personal connection rather than superficial comparisons Current Projects for RGV and Janhvi Kapoor Speaking of the professional front, Ram Gopal Varma is gearing up for a new film featuring Manoj Bajpayee. On the other side, Janhvi Kapoor is building her career with an impressive lineup of projects, including Sunny Sanskari ki Tulsi Kumari and Param Sundari.
